Pawel Kuczyinski

Pawe? Kuczynski was born in 1976 in Szczecin. In 2001 he graduated from the Department of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Pozna?. As an illustrator he has collaborated with different Polish press titles. He is a member of the Association of Polish Artists-Caricaturists (SPAK).

 

He has been preoccupied with satirical drawings since 2004, and has since won a record number of international competitions for satirical drawings in Poland and abroad: in Belgium, Brazil, China, Columbia, the Czech Republic, Iran, Italy, Japan, Korea, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Syria, Taiwan, Turkey, and the United States.

 

In 2010, he won 19 awards and distinctions, including the 2nd prize in the 49th International Cartoon Festival Knokke-Heist (Belgium); the 1st prize in the 15th International Cartoon Contest in Zagreb (Croatia); 2nd prize in the International Forum of Visual Humour KARIKATURUM 5 (Russia); Silver Medal in the 9th Kyoto International Cartoonist Congress in Japan; 1st prize in the 16th Caricature Biennial in Vercelli (Italy); Silver Medal ‘DICACO 2010’ in the 19th Daejon International Cartoon Contest (Korea); 1st prize in the 5th International Cartoon Contest ‘Braila 2010’ (Romania); 1st prize in the 1st International Cartoon Exhibition Sofia 2010 (Bulgaria); 1st prize in the International Cartoon Festival ‘Clear Look’ 2010 (Russia); 1st prize in the Selective Cartoon Contest (Hungary); a distinction in the United Nations Cartoon Award (USA).

 

In 2010, Kuczy?ski also received a distinction in the International Cartoon Competition ‘Chopin’s Smile’ organised by the Museum of Caricature and Cartoon Art in Warsaw.
